Weapon Detonation Forensics

The Weapon Detonation Forensics portion of the NDD program focuses on development of the capability to characterize a nuclear detonation based on its physical characteristics.  Focused R&D investments in techniques for the collection and analysis of both prompt nuclear signatures and radioisotopic debris are critical to supporting the national nuclear attribution program.  The combined efforts of many branches of the Federal Government result in developing an all-source nuclear attribution program.
