NNSA offers an exceptional opportunity for recent college graduates who have the ability and drive to take on challenging jobs that help safeguard our nation’s security. If you’re selected for the highly competitive Future Leaders Program (FLP), you will fill an entry-level position in one of NNSA’s offices. For two years you will gain experience addressing real-world challenges on the job and you will participate in a rigorous learning and development program that can prepare you for potential leadership in one of the Federal government’s most exciting agencies. If you successfully complete the program, you will be eligible for conversion to a permanent full-time Federal position.
The FLP recruits talented men and women who have bachelor’s or master’s degrees in engineering, science, business or related disciplines to fill positions in our headquarters and field offices. Over the course of the two-year program, Future Leaders are provided specialized training to introduce them to NNSA’s varied operations and help develop their technical and leadership skills. If selected, you will join other Future Leaders for classroom training at different sites around the country. You will have at least two rotational assignments to familiarize you with NNSA’s missions, and you will work with senior and peer-level mentors who are dedicated to your success. Because of NNSA’s performance-based compensation system, your salary could increase significantly during the two-year program.
