In addition to 10 paid Federal Holidays
, as an NNSA employee you will earn time off for vacations (“annual leave” in government-speak) and illness ("sick leave").
Vacation Time
Annual leave provides time for vacations as well as time off for your personal business or family needs. You will earn annual leave each pay period at a rate based on your length of service in the Federal government. As a full time employee, you will earn 13 days of vacation time per year the first three years of employment, 19.5 days per year from three to 15 years of employment, and 26 days per year after 15 years.
Sick Leave
As a full-time NNSA employee, you will accumulate 13 days of sick leave per year regardless of your length of service. Unlike annual leave, there is no limit to the number of hours of sick leave you may accrue, so you can protect yourself from loss of salary due to extended illnesses.
