This program places military academy cadets/midshipmen in tours of duty within science, technology, engineering, national security, and relevant fields at any of the NNSA sites. Participants will expand their understanding of the NNSA National Security Enterprise and Department of Defense programs while working closely with nationally recognized staff and researchers on national security research and production.
- Tours of duty to run a minimum three weeks up to and including a preferred six weeks or more during the summer
- NNSA and/or site representatives visit academies in the Fall to communicate opportunities and solicit applications
- Candidates express research interests, and then academies & NNSA sites place students between October and March

Once you and the site coordinator have committed to your participation in the program, the site's point of contact will coordinate with NNSA to work out the details between you, your school and the site you've selected.
